About the author

I have come to this blogging game late in life, having just entered my 70s. It has been an exciting new development for me, first domain purchase, first website and first post. Why am I doing it? I ask myself that often, when nothing seems to go as easily as expected. But there is a reason.
I have been a lifelong student of human behaviour, trying to understand why people do what they do the way they do it. People have fascinated me throughout my career, much of it in training and management. In training, I ran courses in leadership and management and tried to put everything I had learned into practice as a manager for some 30 years.
Now, in ‘retirement’, I have been able to devote more time to study, research and writing. I recently completed my first book, aimed at business leaders, and self-published. I am well on the way to completing my second, which is more focussed on human behaviour in general.
That brings me to the reason for blogging. I find myself in need of conversation, exchange of ideas and opinions around those topics that I am exploring on a daily basis. Being retired means that I no longer have ready access to a pool of people to share with and I have to find another way. The modern way is to network through the internet and here I am.
If you find what I say interesting, challenging, thought-provoking or irritating, please let me know your thoughts and let’s start a conversation.
